Power & Performance
One of the many advancements under the hood of the new Maxima that you won't find among the competition is a standard V6 engine -- a 300-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 shelling a high-octane 261 pound-feet of torque, to be exact. Moreover, the car offers one of the sportier rides around, with a transmission-integrated Drive Mode Selector and manual mode. Moreover, a trio of tech comes together to tailor it: Active Ride Control, which can limit pitch over bumpy roads using automatic engine torque and brake power, Intelligent Trace Control, which applies brakes automatically to each wheel for precision cornering, and an Intelligent Engine Brake, which helps in maintaining a preferred speed. Of course, Maxima is just as fuel-efficient, too. Paired with an Xtronic CVT®, it can get up to 20 city mpg, 30 highway mpg, and 24 combined mpg by EPA estimates.
Safety & Driver-Assist Features
For 2019, Safety Shield 360, the Nissan proprietary driver-assistance suite, is now available in Maxima, incorporating auto emergency brakes, intelligent forward collision warning, a pedestrian detector, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, intelligent lane intervention, and rear auto braking -- in other words, wraparound protection and ultimate peace of mind. There's even an optional traffic sign recognition system to keep you apprised of local ordinances, not to mention an available intelligent driver alertness feature to improve focus. Finally, a standard rearview monitor and options like a front and rear sonar system and an Intelligent Around View® Monitor simplify reversing and parking with situational awareness.
Exterior Features
For one, 2019 Maxima showcases revised style, with curvaceous design lines giving way to eye-catching intelligent auto LED headlights, LED taillights, and LED daytime running lighting, culminating in striking quad-tipped exhaust finishers. There are a few new wheel designs, too, constructed of aluminum alloy and in sleek machine, gloss black, and dark hyper silver finishes. The takeaway: you're sure to turn heads, whether cruising the city or heading down the highway.
Interior Features
A memorable drive comes together in an interior reimagined, spreading out at up to 98.5 cubic feet. Satin chrome, satin dark chrome, satin birds-eye maple wood, and satin bronze facets are available to capture attention, while cloth and several leather-appointed seat options offer comfortable accommodations, with front seating available heated and cooled and rear seating optionally heated. What's more, dual-zone automatic temperature control, an in-cabin microfilter, and rear vents make it easy to get the compartment just the way you like it.
Technology
The cockpit of the new Maxima is a command center for your trip. Under an Advanced Drive-Assist® Display, which delivers critical performance metrics, a standard NissanConnect® 8-inch touch-screen infotainment system appears, with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for smartphone integration and available Nissan Door to Door Navigation with Premium Traffic updates for directional assistance. The latest USB ports, Type-C, are an option for device connectivity, as is an 11-speaker Bose premium audio system to transform your road mix into a travel anthem.
